Job Description

Title: Environmental Chemist
Pay: $24/hr - $30/hr + 1.5 OT 
Contract to Hire - 9 month contract 
Location: Danvers, MA
Responsibilities: 

    • Looking for at least a year of experience within the waste industry
    • Sample and characterize customer waste, when necessary
    • Segregation of chemicals by class; packing compatible materials in appropriate containers and preparing for transportation; completing necessary paperwork per job.
    • Characterizing materials 
  • Manager notes: 
    • Will meet and their location in the morning pick up a van and head to 1 of 3 hospitals 
    • Will spend 4 days a week at these 3 hospitals and 1 day as a rover
    • Does not need a degree but it is preferred
    • Degrees: anything science - Environmental studies, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, Geology, etc.

Our Client is looking for onsite Environmental Field Chemist. They will be responsible for sorting, and transporting materials and waste. Will ensure compatibility and safety processes at all time for each job and lab pack services provided to customers.

Onsite Chemist
As an Onsite Chemist you will be responsible for sorting and preparing hazardous and nonhazardous materials for shipment from the customer’s site. This role will ensure material compatibility and adhere to all safety processes for each job and lab packing service provided to the customer.

  • Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and maintaining safe practices at all times
  • Segregates and characterizes chemicals by hazard class and packs compatible materials into appropriate containers to prepare them for transport; completes required documentation per job, conducting facility inspections as needed
  • Collects hazardous and nonhazardous materials from various onsite locations and transports via pushcart or Company van to waste collection areas
  • Follows proper placarding and load segregation requirements when loading hazardous materials
  • Effectively communicates important information to customer and maintains a productive and positive relationship with key customer contacts
  • Maintains a logbook of waste stored within the waste storage area at customer site
  • Maintains good housekeeping in storage areas and advises relevant parties when additional supplies are needed
  • Provides direction to Field Technicians/Drivers while onsite assisting with waste collection
  • Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization

Education : - High school diploma or equivalent (required) - Bachelor's degree within a science-related discipline (preferred) Experience:
1+ years of experience in lab packing or an environmental waste role (preferred)
